Rare case at Assaf Harofeh Hospital: A baby was diagnosed with congenital diabetes about 12 hours after birth, a case that happens in one to every 200-400 thousand births.
The baby was born at week 37 weighing 2.2 kilograms, which is considered relatively low, and therefore was followed by glucose monitoring, a routine follow-up for babies born with low birth weight.
