The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that Egypt has been working in the past two days to prevent an escalation in the Gaza Strip following the recent Friday events and the threatening messages sent directly to it from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
According to the report, Egypt asked the Palestinian factions to show restraint. It was also reported that Egypt asked the factions for evidence that Israel violated the understandings last Friday.
