Member of Knesset Uri Maklev has submitted an inquiry to Interior Minister Aryeh Deri about the salaries paid to polling-station secretaries in Jerusalem after the secretaries discovered that they were paid 25 percent - hundreds of shekels - less for their work in the recent runoff elections than they were paid in the first round, despite documented promises that the pay would be the same.
The secretaries said that the Interior Ministry has said it's the responsibility of the Jerusalem municipality and vice versa. MK Meklev explained that the main problem was caused by Finance Ministry officials who did not properly budget the matter.
