President Reuven Rivlin lit the eighth Hanukkah candle on Sunday evening with with children of Presidential Residence employees and children living with serious diseases, including from Sulam – a therapeutic day center for children with special needs – and from Chaverim leRefuah – which helps children with special needs who are dealing with serious diseases.
The president said, “I am so happy to see you all here today. Hanukkah is a great joy, a joy for us here at Beit HaNasi, a great joy for people who think of good things. These candles we light are candles of joy and of light.”
