More than 500 social workers are demonstrating this afternoon in front of the government compound in Haifa in protest of their salaries and the severe shortage of staffing.
The social workers' struggle resumed this morning in the form of a strike in the north, after a month in which the workers did not take sanctions and waited for the outcome of negotiations between their representatives and the Finance Ministry. The Histadrut Labor Federation declared a labor dispute two weeks ago and the workers waited for the time legally required before going on strike.
