Leah and Simcha Goldin, the parents of one of the two soldiers whose bodies are being held by Hamas in Gaza, are calling on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to take advantage of his special status vis-à-vis the American administration to immediately include the need to retrieve the bodies and living Israeli civilians from Gaza resolution condemning Hamas which is scheduled for a vote on Thursday at the United Nations General Assembly.
The resolution focuses on attacks, especially the use of missiles. The Goldins said, "It is inconceivable that such a statement of condemnation would not include the IDF soldiers Hamas holds in Gaza in violation of international law." The added, "Removing the soldiers and civilians from the condemnation message is contrary to Israeli interests." Therefore, they said, "Netanyahu must act immediately with the American administration and take advantage of his special status so that the condemnation announcement will be corrected."
