(IsraelNationalNews.com) Police on Saturday afternoon moved in and arrested over 30 persons in a demonstration that turned violent at the Hassan Bek Mosque in the area of the Tel Aviv Dolphinarium, the location of the Friday night suicide bombing attack that claimed 18 lives.
Demonstrators called for taking revenge against Arabs following the attack. Protests continued throughout Saturday afternoon and night, with sporadic rock and firebomb attacks.
Islamic worshipers inside the mosque hurled rocks and bottles at the protestors. Over 60 persons were lightly injured in the demonstration of over 1,000 persons. The rock attacks resulted in increased Arab violence and attacks in the area, leading to stone-throwing attacks on Yefet Street in the Jaffa section of Tel Aviv. Motorists were injured in the stone-throwing attacks that resulted in closing the street to motorists.
