The Commission for Equal Rights for People with Disabilities has filed a claim against the Womens International Zionist Organization in the Jerusalem Labor Court for 380,000 shekels, claiming discrimination against a worker with a mental disability, now 30 years old, who was employed for six and a half years as a kindergarden aide after doing national volunteer service without being paid any wages and social benefits.

WIZO claims the woman was not paid because she was integrated into the kindergarten staff for rehabilitation and not as a regular employee, a determination that must be made by the Labor Ministry at the start of employment. WIZO did not cooperate with the request of the plaintiff and her family to apply to the Ministry of Labor and receive such approval or approval of a reduced minimum wage, and in January 2017 the plaintiff left the job at WIZO for another job.
