Meirav Hajaj, the mother of Lieutenant Shir Hajaj, who was murdered almost two years ago in a truck attack in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, demanded on Tuesday that Knesset members bring the bill calling for the death penalty for terrorists to the Knesset plenum and support it.

Speaking at a hearing of the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, Hajaj said, "We could have saved the lives of 100 people if the murdererous terrorists had received the death penalty. It is possible to conduct discussions for 100 years. I wish to set a date for the vote." She noted, "We have a very short period until the elections. We have to advance the deterrence package. Let's stop the next attack."
