Republican Senator Bob Corker and Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Tuesday sent a letter to President Donald Trump demanding he make a determination as to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's role in the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The letter requested that Trump investigate the role of the crown prince under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. The act allows the president to impose sanctions on a person or country involved in a human rights violation.
