Member of Knesset Yael Cohen Paran (Zionist Union) said, Tuesday, that Interior Minister Aryeh Deri "must resign and be removed from public service," in response to word by police that they have an evidentiary basis to charge him with fraud, breach of trust and tax offenses.

Writing on Twitter, Cohen Paran noted, "In the 2015 election campaign, he declared that he had sinned, entered prison and rehabilitated himself. Today it seems stronger than him. A public official who is once again indicted for fraud and economic offenses during his tenure as interior minister attests to serious personal problems and a betrayal of his public position."
