Interior Minister Aryeh Deri's office has responed to the police announcement of an evidentiary basis against the minister by saying, "We welcome the end of the police investigation, which lasted almost three years."
A statement from the office continued, "We received with satisfaction the shelving of the serious suspicions of accepting bribes, thefts from associations and others that led to the opening of the investigation. We believe that when the State Prosecutor's Office is required to do so, the rest of the suspicions will also be removed and it will become clear that Minister Aryeh Deri has not broken the law."
