United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov said, Monday that Palestinian Authority factions must solve their internal problems in order to bring relief to the population of the Gaza Strip. Referring to last week's rocket fire on Israel, he also told a periodic Security Council meeting on the Middle East that Hamas and other organizations must stop the indiscriminate firing at civilian houses.
The emissary also called on Israel to ease the security blockade on Gaze to ease the suffering of Gaza residents and backed the demands of PA residents for an end to Israel's presence and for the the establishment of a PA state, saying they deserve it.
