The Supreme Court has accepted the appeal of the Criminal Division of the State Prosecutor's Office in the matter of Asaf Danan, who was convicted of sexual harassment offenses by degrading publication and blackmail, and sentenced him to 12 months' imprisonment instead of the six months of community service imposed by the Jerusalem District Court.

The court noted that this is the first case in which it was required to discuss the appropriate punishment for an offense under the 'Video Clip Law' passed by the Knesset more than four years ago, which prohibits the Internet distribution of sexual videos about a person without his or her knowledge.
