The investigators of the National Unit for International Investigations arrested six suspects on suspicion of smuggling diamonds, money laundering, customs offenses, offenses under the Income Tax Ordinance, conspiring to commit a crime, receiving fraudulently, falsifying corporate documents and other offenses.
According to suspicions, those involved, each according to his share, smuggled diamonds worth hundreds of millions of shekels to Israel illegally and without reporting to the authorities. Police said that additional arrests of suspects are expected in Israel and abroad.
