The Jewish community in Hevron has welcomed the order of Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman to promote the construction of a new residential building above the wholesale market in Hevron.
"The decision to rehabilitate the Jewish Quarter of Hevron on Jewish lands stolen after the 1929 massacre (mistakenly called the 'wholesale market') is a Zionist and just decision. The Jewish community in Hevron heartily thanks Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked for the significant step that will strengthen our hold on the inheritance of our forefathers."
