The Knesset Interior Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on Monday on violence against Arab residents of Jerusalem who are involved in land transactions with Jews. Committee Chairman Yoav Kisch said, "Unfortunately, this is not a theoretical discussion, but rather a case of a Jerusalem resident who was abducted [by the Palestinian Authority -ed.] two and a half weeks ago. Since then he has been interrogated with torture because he is suspected of selling property to Jews."

Kisch continued, "It is inconceivable that the kidnappers of a resident of Jerusalem torture him, and the police do not act urgently to release him and arrest his abductors. His detention is contrary to the Oslo Accords. The life of the abductee is in danger. The State of Israel can not allow such conduct towards its residents."
