Chadashot 10 reported that US special envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt will visit Israel next week as part of the White House's plan to present President Trump's peace plan by the end of 2018,

Greenblatt is expected to stay in Israel for nearly a week and meet with Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials. In his talks, Greenblatt will discuss both the American peace plan and the contacts between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip

At this stage, Greenblatt is not expected to meet with senior Palestinian Authority officials in light of the decision by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to sever ties with the White House immediately after Trump's relocating of the US embassy to Jerusalem.

A senior White House official said that " Greenblatt's visit to Israel will reflect the American administration's commitment to the continuation of the talks and the administration's desire to understand the situation on the ground, especially in light of the current tension in Gaza."
