The Israel Defense Forces have decided to freeze the pilot program for integration of women into the Armored Corps, four months after it was crowned as a success by the Chief Armored Corps officer, according to Israeli public television.

Four female soldiers who successfully completed a tank commander course were placed as instructors at the corps' bases, rather than as tank commanders. The six additional fighters who completed the training course of the armored corps were assigned as combat soldiers in the Karakal Battalion of the Border Regiment, and not as Armored Corps soldiers.
