Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav and Meir Cohen, CEO of the Haifa airport have concluded that the airport's runway will be extended by 300 meters during the coming year to enable flights to nearby destinations in Europe.
The extension of the route will allow planes of up to 120 passengers to land on international flights. Recently, the Ministry of Transport announced the cancellation of airline fees at the airport. Following the announcement, TUS AIRWAYS announced the renewal of its regular flights from Haifa to various destinations in Greece and Cyprus.
