Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said, Sunday evening that the Bedouin outpost of Khan al-Ahmar would be removed from its present site near the eastern Jerusalem suburb of Maale Adumim, but it was legitimate to delay the move in order to try to reach a voluntary relocation agreement.
Speaking at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies conference, Liberman said, "The moment the cabinet approved the evacuation of Khan al-Ahmar, the process is irreversible, but there are a few more steps: If the prime minister and the attorney general come and say, 'Let's try to exhaust one more attempt to negotiate voluntary evacuation, this is legally important. Another attempt to exhaust the negotiations, I do not see this as a problem."
