Australia’s spy agency warned ministers that Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s proposal to relocate the embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem may “provoke protest, unrest and possibly some violence in Gaza and the West Bank”, The Guardian reported on Wednesday.

Reports earlier this week indicated that Morrison was considering officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocating the Australian embassy there, but Morrison later clarified that no decision has been made on the issue and that he intends to confer with cabinet colleagues about it in the coming months.
