An Arab who threw a block at a young Jew who lives in the Old City of Jerusalem and wounded him in the head 10 months ago has been convicted of aggravated wounding.
The block was thrown from a height of four meters, and as a result the victim needed stitches in his head. While expressing gratitude to the legal system for the conviction, attorney Haim Bleicher of the Honenu legal-aid organization, who accompanied the victim, said, "Unfortunately, the terrorist was not charged or convicted of attempted murder on national racist motives. We will act within the framework of the arguments for punishment for the maximum punishment to be placed on the terrorist, and to express the severity of the terrorist's crimes as they really were."
