Author Emuna Alon has won the Minister of Education Prize for Jewish Culture in Literature.
In comments accompanying the award, it was stated, "Alon's library is a milestone in the design of a clear feminine voice that is well aware of its Jewishness and its Israeliness. Alon's characters walk in a stormy field of faith, expressing challenges and innocence with an ancient Jewish echo. Alon sketches strong women in her books, creating a reality and a deep historical consciousness."
