The Health Ministry reports that on Saturday a positive result was received for a rabies in a jackal that was found in Kibbutz Nir David in the Emek Hamaayanot Council Region.
The Ministry of Health requests that anyone who may have come into contact with the infected animal or a stray animal in the area or who has animals that may have done so should urgently contact the nearest health office to consider preventive treatment. After working hours, one should go to a hospital emergency room. Parents are asked to clarify with their children whether they have been in contact with suspicious animals and if so to contact the Health Bureau as soon as possible. Pet owners are requested to contact their veterinarian to verify their pets' immunization status.
