Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has invited senior representatives from 40 countries and international organizations to a "Saving the Two-State Solution" conference on Wednesday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss ways to block the United States peace plan, according to Channel 10 Television.
The US and Israel were not invited. According to a document received by the station, the three goals of the conference are: finding ways to deal with the threat to the two-state solution as a result of the expansion of the settlements; formulating measures to protect UN agencies dealing with the Palestinian Authority issue, such as UNRWA; and promoting moves to initiate peace talks on the basis of the two states and UN resolutions. The PA claims that the change of US policy under President Donald Trump is part of a chain of moves to destabilize the world.
