Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz is among a number of ministers, deputy ministers and Knesset members from the coalition who have promised to work for development of the settlement enterprise. Speaking about his plan to lay tracks to the Tapuah junction, he told those in attenance at an event to mark the birth of a daughter to Chairman Yossi Dagan of the Samaria Regional Council, "We are promoting the light train that will start from Tapuach and pass through Ariel, Rosh Ha'ayin and Petah Tikva. When we work on something, it happens."

He added, "With the help of G-d, the line will be added to the entire network of roads and trains in Israel, and the mitzvah here is twofold: security, safety and the settlement of the Land of Israel. Everything the head of the Shomron Regional Council is doing is allowing us to build the land."
