A senior European diplomat strongly criticizes Spain's foreign minister's initiative for a unilateral EU recognition of a Palestinian state.
In a conversation with Israel Hayom, the diplomat said that "this is a proposal that will not be accepted in any way. He noted that EU members are having difficulty agreeing on much simpler issues these days, so it is clear that consensus will not be reached on this issue. According to EU working rules, all decisions must be made by agreement of all Member States.
