The official value of the shekel rose an average of .269 percent on Monday against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.

The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.662, down .191 percent from Friday, while the Euro rose .031 percent to 4.1804 shekels and the pound sterling was set at 4.6733 shekels, up .195 percent. The volatile South African rand jumped 2.152 percent to NIS .2516.
