Head of the Opposition, MK Tzipi Livni lamented the passing of Uri Avnery, saying: " Uri Avner was a courageous journalist, a special individual, and a pioneer. He stood behind his positions despite the backlash and planted the ideas of peace and moderation in the hearts of the nation even when they were not part of the lexicon. He presented a clear and sharp perspective until the day of his death, Israel will miss him."
