Chairman Yitzhak Herzog of the Jewish Agency said, Sunday evening, "For some time now, I have been anticipating serious mishaps from questioning at Ben-Gurion Airport. That is why I turned to Chairman Avi Dichter of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in May and asked him several times to convene a special parliamentary-oversight session on the matter."

Writing on Twitter, the former opposition leader included a copy of his letter to Dichter and added, "Unfortunately, damage to the good reputation of the state and an unnecessary storm among the Jews of the Diaspora has been caused in vain. After the Beinart affair, it is important to get a response."
