The official value of the shekel rose an average of .577 percent on Monday in mixed trading against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.

The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.709, up .406 from Friday, while the Euro declined .279 percent to 4.2246 shekels and the pound sterling was set at 4.7293 shekels, up .322 percent. The South African rand, hit as an emerging market currency, fell 3.274 percent to NIS .257.
