The Department for Investigating Police Officers in the State Attorney's Office has filed an indictment in the Tel Aviv District Court against two Tel Aviv officers for two counts of bribery, robbery, abuse of office power, breach of trust and obstruction of justice.
The indictment accuses the defendants of taking bribes as protection fees for a year and a half from foreign workers who operate gambling houses in Tel Aviv. In addition, police officers are charged with two robberies committed while on duty, dressed in police uniforms, carrying police pistols, in which they took a total of 327,000 shekels. In one of the robberies, a police pistol was drawn to threaten the occupants of the apartment.
