Chairman Avi Nissenkorn of the Histadrut Labor Federation said on Tuesday that he will join the negotiations on ways to prevent violence in the health system, together with the chairman of the Nurses Association, Ilana Cohen.
Nissenkorn expressed support for the nurses' struggle and the strike that began today, saying: "We must not accept the plague of violence in the health system. The state cannot stand idly by while nursing and medical teams, who devote day and night to saving lives, are attacked every day at their place of work. We stand together with the nurses, to cry out until there is a comprehensive and genuine treatment and response."
