Border Police forces, together with the Gas Administration and the Poultry Council, arrested four suspects in northern Israel on Monday for illegally transporting gas tanks and eggs.

A suspect from the Israeli Arab town of Jisr Az-Zarqa and one from Kafr Qara were turned over to the Energy Ministry after they were arrested near Barta'a on the 1949 Armistice Line, each transporting gas containers in a vehicle in a dangerous manner without the necessary permits. A Barta'a resident was arrested at the Barta'a Junction for the same reason and with similar results. At the Yokneam junction, 1,530 eggs were found in a Barta'a resident's suspicious vehicle. The eggs bore counterfeit inspection stamps and were transported under substandard conditions.
