A senior Syrian scientist was killed overnight Saturday when his car exploded in the Hamat district, media outlets in Syria reported.
According to reports, the scientist, Aziz Asbar, who was in charge of the scientific research center in the city of Masyaf, was killed when he left his home. The Syrian government has yet to comment.
