Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has instructed promotion of a plan to establish an airport on an artificial island near the shores of Israel to facilitate the rapid increase in the number of tourists entering the country.
The move came at a meeting of the ministerial team dealing with the closing of the Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv. The current plan is for Ben-Gurion International Airport to absorb the Sde Dov traffic.
