Chairman of the Zionist Union faction faction, Member of Knesset Yoel Hasson, notified Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud) of the decision to nominate MK Tzipi Livni (Zionist Union) as the Knesset's new opposition leader.
"Before the current head of the opposition, MK Isaac Herzog (Zionist Union), becomes chairman of the Jewish Agency, I am honored to inform you on behalf of the Zionist Union faction...that MK Tzipi Livni will serve as the opposition's leader as of August 1, 2018," Hasson wrote in a letter to Edelstein.
