Reuters reported that Maria Butina, a Russian citizen accused of espionage in the United States, met in 2015 with senior US officials, including Stanley Fischer, who was then vice chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Sources familiar with the issue said Butina arrived in Washington with the Deputy Director of Russia's Central Bank for discussions on economic relations between Russia and the United States.
