Culture Minister Miri Regev on Sunday criticized Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, who she claimed had prevented the vote on the Cinema Law that she had promoted.

"There was also a personal aspect on his side against me. He hurt my ministry as well as various sectors that could have benefited from the law," Regev said in an interview on Army Radio.

Edelstein said in response, "The decision regarding the vote on the Cinema Law was appropriate. It is regrettable that there are those who choose to inflame baseless hatred on Tisha B'Av."
