Member of Knesset, Ofer Shelah from the secular Yesh Atid party spoke out vehemently against the arrest of a Conservative Rabbi, Dov Hayoun for conducting a marriage ceremony outside the umbrella of the Israeli Rabbinate.
"The arrest of Rabbi Dov Hayoun for questioning about conducting weddings outside the Chief Rabbinate is so insane and absurd that the attorney general's order not to investigate him is not enough," Shelah said.
"The police should apologize for following the insane order of the Rabbinical Court."
