At the request of Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, a special addition of 100 million shekels was approved Tuesday for the maintenance and renovation of apartments in public housing.

Half of the money will be allocated for the renovation and adjustment of apartments in public housing that have been vacated in favor of new tenants. The other half is for in-depth renovations and upgrading of occupied apartments. This allocation will put the total budget in favor of public housing maintenance at NIS 170 million in 2018, an increase of 45 million shekels from 2017 and NIS 75 million from 2016.
