Yair Lapid, Chairman of the secular Yesh Atid party, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of surrendering to the haredi parties in his coalition by asking the High Court of Justice to extend the deadline to pass the "draft law."

The proposed "draft law," which would enact a number of regulations regarding the enlistment of haredim, would replace an earlier version that was deemed to be unconstitutional.

"There is no justification for postponing it," Lapid said. "It is another disgraceful surrender to the haredim."
