At the end of intensive talks between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Naftali Bennett in the last few hours, agreement has been reached on the issue of the Jewish settlement clause in the National Law. According to the amended version proposed by Bennett, the clause will be formulated as follows: "The State views the development of Jewish settlement as a national value and will act to encourage and promote its establishment and consolidation."

According to sources involved in the matter, this wording is agreed upon by the legal authorities and is acceptable both to the Jewish Home Party and to the Likud. The amended text will be submitted for approval by the Joint Committee on the National Law Monday before a vote in the Knesset plenum.
