US President Donald Trump revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail, that he conveyed to British Prime Minister Theresa May his wish for a "carve-out" for the United States in any final agreement on the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union.
"I said (to May), 'Make sure you have a carve-out, you have to have a carve-out' -- where no matter what happens they have the right to make a deal with the United States," Trump said.
