The Ministry of Environmental Protection's Chof Hanaki (Clean Coast) Index shows that more than 72% of the nation's beaches were defined as "clean" to "very clean,", compared to 60.61% in the same period last year
Since the beginning of the year 65% of the beaches have been clean at least 70% of the time. The cleanest coastal authorities - who run the beaches - are Chof Ashkelon, Eilat, Kiryat Yam and the Nature and Parks Authority. The dirtiest coastal authority is Gan Raveh.
