Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is opposed to a clause in the National Law that allows Jewish communities to prevent the residence of non-Jews in the community, according to Israel Hayom.

This is the only actual practical clause in the national law, which consists mainly of declarative articles that primarily determine the Jewish character of the State of Israel.

According to the report, despite the opinion of the attorney general, Minister Yariv Levin intends to bring the bill to the Knesset for its approval in full - including the section that was disqualified. The move is expected to spark a real storm in the political system.
