The cabinet is scheduled to consider, Sunday, a bill by Welfare Minister Haim Katz and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon for the supervision and regulation of early childhood settings that will establish a licensing requirement for daycare centers while setting standards that will ensure the safety and well-being of the children.
The law will for the first time establish an arrangement regulating the conditions in the centers alongside the creation of administrative enforcement tools, authority for inspectors and penal provisions.
