A rabid jackal was identified in the past 24 hours at Kibbutz Maoz Haim in the Emek Hamayanot Council Regiona, south of the Sea of Galilee.
The Health Ministry requests that anyone who has been in contact with the infected jackal or a stray animal or whose animals may have come into contact to urgently contact the health office or emergency room closest to his or her place of residence to consider the need for preventive treatment.
