Activists of the Zionist Union party have gone out to protest vigils in front of the homes of politicians from the Yesh Atid following the party's support of the draft law.
A statement by Zionist Union said Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid "threw the soldiers under the wheels of the bus for an imaginary alliance with [Defense Minister Avigdor] Liberman. We are for every citizen in Israel sharing the burden whether in military service or in national or civilian service - but until that happens, the state must ensure that those who enlist will be rewarded with an appropriate salary. The current draft law erases the possibility of this."
